Piloting Historical Thinking Lessons to Address Climate Change

To demonstrate how the history classroom could become an important site for addressing climate change, this article describes piloting of three lessons. Our qualitative case study occurred in elective environmental education course with teacher candidates who participated lessons and were invited to provide feedback. We describe their development, share results from surveys interview. Participants identified several educational benefits expressed feeling better prepared teach both critical thinking general. findings suggest that these may serve as useful examples developing new resources support educators teaching change alongside historical thinking.
